Because all careers involve dealing with people to some degree, psychology provides for exceptional all-around preparation for thriving in the workplace in any field. Not only do psychology majors learn how to think critically, how to work with numbers, how to solve problems,and how to communicate effectively both in speech and in writing, they develop an understanding of the motivations of people at the most basic and most general levels. Psychology majors at ETSU have the extra-special opportunity to choose a concentrated program of study in child psychology, clinical psychology, behavioral neuroscience, and cognitive science.
