Master of Arts in Art History
East Tennessee State University’s M.A. in art history is a small program. Most courses combine graduate and advance undergraduate level. 30 graduate credits in art history (10 courses @ 3 credits each), including Research Methods for Art Historians and Thesis. Students must pass a translation exam in one foreign language used in art historical research (usually French or German, although another language appropriate to the student’s research area may be substituted with permission). Students will work closely with the professor in their specialty.
