The theatre isn’t a profession it’s a passion. Those who are drawn to the stage love the ability to convey life’s most meaningful and poignant messages through performance. But it takes more than just the performers to bring a play to life, many careers in theater lie behind the curtains. .

Theater at ETSU prepares you for a multitude of experiences. Besides becoming a performing artist, you can explore directing, costume designing, designing scenery or lighting, becoming a makeup artist or stage manager. ETSU is the only theatre program in East Tennessee or Southwest Virginia to combine performance training for both the stage and the camera. With guidance from a faculty who has enjoyed regional and national recognition for their creativity and continue to work professionally, you will take center stage at ETSU.
