Students DJs crew THE EDGE that streams online and via ETSUs mobile app. Candy Bryant lends her expertise to the radio team. EDGE student station manager, Wesley Jester. Students enrolled in Intro to Radio/TV/Film with Tammy Hayes are assigned a shift on the radio. Eric Altenhof, Class of 2012, was Edge manager and an RTVF major. Students create their own ads to air on the radio, sometimes for community clients Bethanie Hyatt, Outstanding Broadcasting Student and former EDGE DJ. Rob Reburn and Eric Altenhof do some soundchecks before going on air.
The EDGE: ETSU's Radio Alternative streams music and student programming online and is entirely student-run. THE EDGE prides itself on its loyal service to the ETSU community and beyond.
ETSU also operates a public radio station - WETS-FM which broadcasts over the air and online.
WETS-FM is a public radio station operated as a partnership between East Tennessee State University and the station’s listeners and broadcasts from the ETSU campus. Operating 24-hours a day at 89.5 MHz in the Tri-Cities Tennessee/Virginia region and broadcasting 3 HD stations - including Americana, Classical and News, the station is heard everywhere on the Internet through the World Wide Web.
