Doug's Flagolet (although we don't actually call them that because that is French) Beans with Garlic
Nothing elegant about this. Just decent food, which is good for you, good for the animals, and good for the planet. You ought to try it.
What Goes In It:
immature/fresh beans like half-runners or soybeans, shelled...however much you want
2 T. olive oil
shallots: chopped
2 garlic cloves: minced
some salt
some pepper
What to do:
clean the beans
boil them in water with a bit of salt, until they are cooked, but crunchy...or to your taste...if you insist on making them mushy.
in a skillet, heat oil and add in the garlic, shallots, salt and pepeper.
stir minute, for the flavors to meld a bit.
serve...
