About Dr. Baxter: 
Dr. Baxter was born in Harrow, England. He served as chair of the Department of History from 2002 until 2008.  Dr. Baxter's areas of focus include World War II military history.  His entry on Bernard Law Montgomery appeared in the Encyclopedia of War (2011) edited by Gordon Martel.  His entry on Montgomery will appear in Oxford Bibliographies Online. Recently retired from teaching, Dr. Baxter is currently writing a history of the explosive RDX in World War II.
