The Department of History at East Tennessee State University is proudly hosting the 28th Annual meeting of the Ohio Valley History Conference from October 11-13, 2012. It will be held at the beautiful Carnegie Hotel, located directly across the street from the campus of ETSU, and on the campus itself. Prospective participants are encouraged to submit an abstract of no more than three hundred words, a cv of no more than two papers, and contact information. Topics include, but are not limited to early America, Civil War, Progressivism, World Wars I and II, modern 20th century, modern European history, the Ohio Valley, or regional/local topics. Interdisciplinary topics are especially encouraged, as well as roundtable discussions. Graduate students are especially urged to submit proposals.
Entire panel submissions are preferred, but not necessary. Individual papers will be accepted. Abstracts must be single spaced and typed. Those wishing to serve as commentator must send a vita to the chair of the conference. Abstracts and vita should be received by June 15, 2012. The conference chair and program committee will announce selections by July 15, 2012 and information will be sent to participants by August 1, 2012.
