Audio file of the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court Case. This case affected the outcome of the 2000 Florida Presidential Election by stopping the ballot recounting process in that state. It remains a controversial decision, which involved the Court in a highly politicized battle that had dramatic consequences for the future of the U.S. government. The Oyez Project from Northwestern University hosts this file, in addition to background on the Supreme Court, such as profiles of the Justices, a tour of the Supreme Court Building, and a list of other cases in the project.

The site includes good materials on impeachment, the legal background for impeachment, the impeachment trial of Andrew Johnson, and day-by-day press coverage of the Clinton impeachment trial. The Clinton impeachment was a pivotal event in twentieth-century politics and placed the moral character of the president in the national spotlight. This event caused the nation to question the appropriate standards of behavior for the president and to address the right to privacy of the nation's highest elected official."*

    Oklahoma City Bombing,
"The Washington Post's collection of coverage on the April 19, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The bombing killed 168 people and injured many others. The coverage begins with news articles and photographs from the day of the bombing and continues through the trial and sentencing of bombers Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols."*

The Unabomber Manifesto and photographs of Kaczynski are online, as well as a timeline of the Unabomber story, and brief profiles of the key figures in the trial and of Kaczynski's victims."*
