The Rural Youth Photography Project helps migrant and local youth between the ages of eleven and eighteen learn photography, storytelling, and technology skills.  Participation in this program has been shown to increase students' self-esteem and the likelihood of their staying in school.

Telamon's nationally recognized youth initiative, Growing Tennessee: Rural Youth Cultivate Common Ground, provides school age migrant youth with enriching educational opportunities through involvement with local youth groups such as 4-H.  Launched in 2005 with funds from Administration on Children, Youth, and Families, Office of Head Start, the program has served 100 youth, ages 8-18, from both migrant farm worker families and rural Tennessee families.

The children have participated in a variety of community-based art activities, including photography, digital storytelling, ceramics, and mural arts.
