Raluca Negrisanu joined the Literature and Language Department in the fall of 2009.
Originally from Romania, where she completed her undergraduate and graduate studies
in German and English, she was accepted in the Ph. D. program at the University of
Tennessee. She graduated in 2008 with a Ph.D. in German and Applied Linguistics. Her
interests are in sociolinguistics with a focus on first language attrition, classroom
based research, and teaching methodologies. She teaches all levels of German courses,
is the co-advisor of the German Club at ETSU and organizes language tables and other
campus events designed to attract and motivate students who take German classes.
