The University School is currently undergoing a revisioning of it
mathematics and science programs, K-12. It is the general censuses
of the school’s staff that the math and science curriculum is
too broad, resulting in superficial coverage of math and science
that fails to link concepts or develop them over successive grades.
The revisioning process will help the school examine these issues
in light of the research and best practices. The revisioning
process will also allow US to examine how math and science are
taught as an integrated whole and how technology can be used as an
effective tool to support math and science teaching for all
students. The ultimately goal is to prepare students to succeed in
more challenging mathematics and science as they progress from
grades K-12.
