TN Governor's Schools

The State of Tennessee provides twelve summer programs for gifted and talented high school students. These programs provide challenging and intensive learning experiences in these disciplines: Arts, Humanities, International Studies, Engineering, Science, Prospective Teachers, Scientific Exploration of Tennessee Heritage, Information Technology Leadership, and Agricultural Science. Three new programs beginning in 2008 are Computational Physics, Emerging Technologies, and Scientific Models and Data Analysis.

ETSU will host the School for Scientific Exploration of Tennessee Heritage

UT Knoxville will host the School for Engineering and the School for the Sciences

UT Chattanooga will host the School for Prospective Teachers

MTSU will host the School for the Arts

UT Martin will host the School for the Humanities and the School for Agricultural Science

University of Memphis will host the School for International Studies

TN Tech - Cookeville will host the School for Information Technology Leadership

Austin Peay State University - will host the School for Computational Physics

Tennessee Technological University - Cookeville - will host the School for the Emerging Technologies

East Tennessee State University - will host the School for Scientific Models and Data Analysis
