AMSA - American Medical Student Assocation

Congratulations!  You’re making your first step towards becoming a health professional by choosing ETSU, ranked one of the top twenty schools in the nation of premedical programs1

The American Medical Student Association is committed to improving health care and healthcare delivery to all people; promoting active improvement in medical education; involving its members in the social, moral, and ethical obligations of the profession of medicine; assisting in the improvement and understanding of world health problems; contributing to the welfare of medical students, pre-medical students, interns, residents, and post-MD/DO trainees; and advancing the profession of medicine.

The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) at ETSU makes you a more competitive applicant by integrating hands-on experience, community involvement, and networking with the local medical community.  In the past, we’ve offered our members opportunities to attend suture workshops, intubation workshops, mock interviews by admission committee members, and participate in events such as the Wilderness Medical Conference. We have toured various medical schools and been involved in several community events from visiting the Ronald McDonald house to volunteering at free medical clinics.

Membership dues are $20.00 for the 2014-2015 school year. Only members will be eligible to participate in voting and skills workshops.

Although we are a pre-medical club, we encourage all pre-health students to be become a member and get involved with AMSA!
