Recommended Background

The process to begin preparation for professional school starts as early as your freshmen year in high school.  It is important to proactively seek academic courses, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, and community engagement opportunities to help you build a strong candidacy for admission into a professional school.

The advisors in the MPA office have developed strong working relationships with admissions officers at many professional schools and we continually research the admissions standards, criteria, and practices of programs in our region and beyond. Based on our research and our experience with students, we make the following recommendations to prospective pre-professional students:

High school preparation

Tests for college credit

Dual enrollment and other transfer credit
