The Department of Music is proud to be affiliated with the Johnson City Symphony and the Milligan College Chamber Orchestra. We're always seeking further opportunities to promote music-making here in Johnson City and in the wider East Tennessee area through the relationships provided by affiliation.
Music majors and minors can received large ensemble credit by performing in either the Johnson City Symphony or the Milligan Chamber Orchestra.
Both organizations accepts students by audition only. These auditions are typically held at the beginning of each semester. The Johnson City Symphony rehearses evenings during the week leading up to their concert and attendance is mandatory. Lamar Alexander Scholarship students are automatically awarded a position in the symphony. You can view the Johnson City Symphony schedule or visit their website at www.jcsymphony.com or receive more information by calling the Symphony Office at 423-000-0000.
Students may also receive their large ensemble performance experience with the Milligan College Chamber Orchestra. Students can review audition information and course requirements by either visiting the college's website at www.milligan.edu/music/index.html or calling the Milligan College Music Department at 423-000-0000.
