Dr. Zachary Marshall Bio

Dr. Zachary Marshall currently serves as Visiting Professor of Music at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Marshall holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in voice performance from the University of South Carolina with a minor in music history. He also holds a Master of Music from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor of Music from ETSU. Prior to doctoral studies, Dr. Marshall served as adjunct faculty at ETSU and Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville. Among his accomplishments at ETSU, Dr. Marshall was the founding director of 10 Times a Lady, a female chamber ensemble that has performed extensively during its first year of existence. He has performed many opera and oratorio works, most recently appearing in The Tender Land with Southwest Virginia Opera Festival. Dr. Marshall is a member of the Appalachian Express barbershop chorus, and Buc Wild quartet, which placed 14th internationally in the 2005 Barbershop Harmony Society International Collegiate Competition. He is also a member of Doc Bonhomie, an Americana style band based out of east Tennessee. Dr. Marshall is also a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and Pi Kappa Lambda. Among his duties at ETSU, Dr. Marshall directs 10 Times a Lady, 10BucsWorth, and teaches applied voice.
