Applied Research Ethics National Association (ARENA) An organization of professionals concerned about the ethical conduct of research. Association of Profession and Practical Ethics The largest, and, by my lights the best, professional organization that examines these issues. Their annual (Spring) meetings feature a number of papers on research ethics. Great chance to meet other people interested in these topics. Responsible Conduct of Research Education Consortium Aims | Charter Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals From the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. This document, first written in 1978, has now been endorsed by the editors of more than 500 biomedical ethics journals. It sets out some general guidelines for submission and evaluation of articles, and specifically addresses a range of significant moral issues, most especially, issues of authorship. University Programs on Research Ethics: Indiana University Information on research ethics workshops, taught by IU faculty, and sponsored by seven other mid-Western universities. Includes a proposal, by Ken Pimple, for structuring the issues more coherently. North Carolina State University Research Ethics Initiative Includes fully developed teaching modules covering all the research guidelines specified by NIH. Many of these modules are quite good.
