Legal Studies Minor





A twenty-one (21) hour, interdisciplinary incorporating courses from the departments of Political Science, Criminal Justice, Mass Communications, Management/Marketing, and Environmental Health. The program is designed of the student interested in law and the legal system. Coursework exposure in the minor will help prepare students who wish to pursue a degree in law or who want to engage in graduate work in criminal justice, political science, or to take a paralegal certification course, following completion of their baccalaureate degree. (Please note: ETSU does not currently offer paralegal certification.)  Also, students majoring or minoring in Political Science may not count courses taken for credit within the Legal Studies toward completion of the major in Political Science

Minor in Legal Studies

Required Courses:

PSCI 3200: Law and Judicial Process 3 hours
PSCI 3230: American Constitutional Law 3 hours
CJCR 2540: Criminal Law 3 hours
MGMT 3310: Legal Environment of Business (see prerequisite) 3 hours
OR

ENVH 4000: Public Health Law 3 hours

Prerequisite for MGMT 3330 and MGMT 4600; may be selected as alternative course in Required Courses.

CJCR 3650: Criminal Procedure 3 hours

MGMT 3310: Legal Eng't of Business *# 3 hours
MGMT 3333: Law of Commercial Transportation ** 3 hours
MGMT 4600: Personnel Law *** 3 hours
