Provenance: The Nola and Robert Kemmer Collection was donated to the University Archives in 1991 and 1992 by Nola Moon Kemmer and Rose Kemmer Anderson.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Nola and Robert Kemmer, natives of the Spring City, Tennessee area, attended the East Tennessee State Normal School at Johnson City, 1915-18. They received subject certificates and diplomas to teach. In addition, Nola Kemmer in 1928 received a permanent elementary school teaching certificate. In 1915 the Kemmers had a daughter, Rose.

SCOPE AND CONTENT

The Nola and Robert Kemmer Collection consists of two subject certificates and two diplomas from East Tennessee State Normal School and East Tennessee State College, 1918 and 1928. The diplomas and subject certificates were signed by Normal School President Sidney G. Gilbreath and Dean C. Hodge Mathes. Also included is a United States Food Administration Certificate signed by Gilbreath and by Herbert Hoover, United States Food Administrator; and a State of Tennessee, Department of Education certificate. Four 17" x 22" documents have been placed in an oversized folder, while two smaller documents have been placed in a legal-size folder and stored inside of the larger folder. Both folders are stored in the map cabinet according to accession number.
