Processing Information: Processing of the records was completed by Marie Tedesco in November 1987.
HISTORIC NOTE
WHCB was founded in 1984 by the Appalachian Educational Communication Corporation. The station is a noncommercial educational station which has a Christian emphasis. The idea for the Homecoming '86 church history was originated by program director, Janet R. Hill. She and other WHCB employees worked with community volunteers on the program.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The WHCB Homecoming '86 Project Records include two audio cassettes and one program booklet. The cassettes are recordings of a three-hour program which aired in August 1986. The program focused on the history and development of a select number of churches in the Upper East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia area. The accompaning booklet contains brief histories of area churches.
Organization: The tapes are stored in the audio-visual storage area, according to accession number. The booklet is stored in small collections.
