Provenance: The tapes were donated to the Archives of Appalachia by Martha Alfonso, l04 Ridgemont Road, Johnson City, Tennessee, on August 4, l987.

Access: The tapes are open for research.

Processing Information: Marie Tedesco completed processing, and the tapes were opened for research in November l987.

HISTORICAL NOTE

The Congregational Holiness Church of Griffin, Georgia was founded on January 29, l92l in Griffin. Camp meetings are held approximately three times per year; the summer meeting usually takes place in July. Mrs. Alfonso's father, E. Homer Ralston (December l, l898-January l, l975) was a preacher at this church.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The video tape covers the Friday, July l7, l987 meeting, while the audio tape covers the Sunday, July l9, l987 meeting. The minister for both services is Gene Price.

Organization: The tapes are stored in the audio-visual storage area by accession number.
