BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Cynthia Ann Cornwell was born February 28, 1964 in Urbana, Illinois. She received her B.A. from Milligan College, Milligan College, Tennessee in 1985; and her Master of Divinity from Emmanuel School of Religion, Johnson City, Tennessee in 1988. As of 1988 Cornwell was serving as the associate minister at Hopwood Memorial Christian Church in Carter County, Tennessee.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
The eight audio cassettes which make up the collection contain nine interviews of individuals who had knowledge of either Milligan College or persons instrumental in Milligan's development as a Christian, liberal arts school. Cornwell conducted seven of the interviews, while Oris Hyder conducted the remaining two interviews. These interviews, along with six additional interviews were conducted by Cornwell as part of her thesis research on the history of Milligan College. (The thesis, "Beside the Water of the Buffalo: A History of Milligan College to 1917," was completed in 1988 at Emmanuel School of Religion, Johnson City, Tennessee.)

This series includes the eight cassettes which comprise the collection. The tapes focus on the history of Milligan College and on some of the individuals important to its development as a Christian, liberal arts school. Interviews were conducted by Cynthia A. Cornwell and Oris Hyder. The interviews are arranged chronologically. All tapes are 90-minutes in length. Tapes are stored according to accession number in the audio visual storage area.
