This series contains a sampling of the payroll ledgers of the Carolina, Clinchfield
and Ohio Railway that have been placed in oversized boxes. Payroll ledger boxes
243-246, September 1910-April 1914 are monthly listings of Carolina, Clinchfield
and Ohio Railway employees including name, occupation, department and earnings
for the month. The remaining portion of this series is broken down into three
subseries:Subseries XII-A, Payroll ledgers September 1910-April 1936; Subseries
XII-B, Payroll Ledgers October 1941-February 1961; and Subseries XII-C, Payroll
ledgers January 1910-November 1941.
Subseries XII-A, PAYROLL LEDGERS September 1910-April 1936, Boxes 243- 251.
This subseries contains payroll ledgers from September 1910 to April 1936 and
represent both monthly and bi-monthly listings of Carolina, Clinchfield and
Ohio Railway employees including names, occupation code number (or in some cases
by title of occupation), department code number and earnings for the half-month.
The ledgers are arranged chronologically.
