BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

 

Ladye Kate Ottinger attended East Tennessee State College (University) as a freshman in 1928-1929. It is not known how long afterwards she attended. Subsequent alumni records failed to list her as a graduate of the university.

 

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

 

The Ladye Kate Ottinger Papers consist of memorabilia documenting Ottinger’s time as a student at East Tennessee State College (now University) in the late 1920s and early 1930s. It includes an autograph album (1928), a 1929 issue of the Chalk Line (the student newspaper), and an annotated copy of a 1936 Chalk Line, Senior Edition (the student yearbook). Note: The oversized 1929 Chalk Line newspaper is stored in an oversized folder and filed in the map cabinet by the collection accession number.
