This
photograph, taken in 1927, shows the baseball teams from Frying Pan and Big
Branch camps. The teams would play each other and other logging camps on Sundays
in the warmer months, and many people from the camps would go to watch the game.
The teams, spectators, and often their families would go to and from the games
by way of rail. As you can see in the photo, the teams had full uniforms.
