SpCoSpecial Collections is a permanent collection of books and other printed materials that support research on southern Appalachia. The nearly 10,000 titles include contemporary and out-of-print works, with special emphasis on regional history, social reform, economic development, and folklife. Also included are works on the environment, politics, religion, and literature. A sampling of titles by topic can be found at the end of each of our subject guides to Appalachian Collections.

Search the Sherrod Library Catalog for titles found in Special Collections. Special Collections titles are designated as being in the Archives of Appalachia and may be consulted in our reading room.
