Roy Huskey, Jr. Scholarship Roy Huskey, Jr. was a widely-admired bass player who recorded with a multitude of major bluegrass and country artists from Roy Acuff to Emmylou Harris and from Gillian Welch to Garth Books. The Roy M. Huskey, Jr. scholarship was initiated in 2000 by the Iota Pi musical sorority with the collaboration of The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). Funds have been raised via an annual concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville featuring some of the best-known artists in Bluegrass and Country Music
