Benny Sims Scholarship

The Benny Sims Scholarship is endowed by the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance, the family of Leon Kyser, and numerous private donors. It is awarded yearly to a student enrolled in the Bluegrass, Old Time, and Country Music Program. Annual awards for this scholarship is currently in the neighborhood of $300.

Current students interested in applying for this scholarship should send a cassette tape or CD with three songs or tunes featuring his/her playing and/or singing. This should be accompanied by a one-page summary of the student's experience with bluegrass and/or country music to date, and what he/she would like to achieve musically in the future.
