The Historic Preservation Field Experience is based in Jonesborough, Tennessee's oldest town. Students will work with Justin Sanders, a preservation staff member from the Heritage Alliance, which is a Local Partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. A variety of hands-on and field-based learning experiences will highlight the diverse, ever-changing field of preservation. With activities ranging from cemetery maintenance, historic building and loft tours, and real-world practice in preservation techniques, students will experience regional preservation issues first hand.
