To complete the Appalachian Studies minor, students must take two required courses, APST 2060, “Introduction to Appalachian Studies,” and APST 4997, “Current Issues in Appalachian Studies,” and take twelve hours in at least tow departments. Only three hours in the student’s major field count towards the Appalachian Studies minor. To put together a group of elective courses fulfilling the requirements for the Appalachian Studies minor, students should consult with the coordinator, Dr. Richard Blaustein, rm 113 Rogers-Stout (tel. 43904748 or email: blaustei@etsu.edu) or with Dr. Ted Olson in the office of the Center for Appalachian Studies and Services, rm 209 Warf-Pickle (tel. 439-5348 or email cass@etsu.edu). All messages will be promptly returned.
