	Some Ballad Folks This pioneering study of traditional ballad singers was conducted in 1978 by Tom Burton on Beech Mountain in Avery and Watauga counties in North Carolina. The book features interviews with five traditional ballad singers, telling their views of the songs they and their families sang, and providing some history of the songs and analysis of the ballads and singers.
