Placement Services

Career placement services are available for students and alumni of the College of Business and Technology. A wide range of career related assistance is offered including job searching strategies, networking, interviewing workshops and resume/cover letter preparation and critique. Please see Melinda LaPrade in room 316 of Sam Wilson Hall for more information.

Internships

The College of Business and Technology Internship Program provides advanced business students an opportunity to gain real-world experience as part of their undergraduate academic curriculum. The program matches qualified students with participating organizations in one-semester assignments. Through the process, the intern gains an appreciation of the knowledge, skills and discipline required in the employment setting. Upon successful completion of the internship course, the student receives three semester hours of elective credit for one semester. Please see Nancy Casteel or Tracie Gamble in room 210 of Sam Wilson Hall for an application packet.

Career Fair

Early in the spring semester, the College of Business and Technology holds a career fair for students and recent graduates. Companies from throughout the nation are invited to campus to collect resumes and discuss employment and career opportunities with students of the College. One week prior to the career fair, the College of Business and Technology and professional members of the Society for Human Resource Management hold a Career Fair Preparation Day with workshops held on resume preparation, interviewing, corporate etiquette, appropriate business attire, and networking. Resume critiques and mock interviews are also conducted during Preparation Day. Please see Melinda LaPrade in room 316 of Sam Wilson Hall for more information.

Employment Opportunities

The College of Business and Technology works closely with employers to match qualified students and alumni of the College with employment opportunities. Employers frequently post positions, both full and part-time, directly with the College. Additionally, companies schedule on-campus interviews to assist with recruiting efforts. Employment opportunities and scheduled interviews are communicated to students and alumni through the job opportunity bulletin board, web bulletin board and to specific departments within the College. Please see Melinda LaPrade in room 316 of Sam Wilson Hall for more information.
