Geography is more than just names, locations and
statistics. As a Geography major, you will explore
the physical environment and how humans make it a
part of their culture. You will learn about the spatial
relationship between man and his environment. You
will be able to answer questions such as How was
GIS used in the rescue efforts following the events
of 9-11? How do tsunamis form? Why was the December
26, 2004, tsunami so devastating and what will be
its long term impacts on society?
As a graduate of geographic studies, you will have the skills for careers
in such varied fields as environmental studies,
anthropology, ecology, GIS, education, parks and
recreation, regional planning, land use, economic
geography, hydrology, meteorology and climatology,
agriculture and many more. Is Geography for you?
