Andy Czuchry received his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut in 1969. His concentration was in guidance and control systems engineering. He has more than twenty years experience as a professional manager in technical innovation and the electronics manufacturing industry. Dr. Czuchry has been the holder of the AFG Industries Chair of Excellence in Business and Technology since joining East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in 1992. He also holds a dual appointment as a tenured professor in both the Department of Management and Marketing and the Department of Engineering Technology, Surveying and Digital Media. His areas of expertise are Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Technical Innovation, Quality Management and Continuous Improvement
ETSU's Dr. Andy Czuchry receives Association for Global Business Award
The Association for Global Business (AGB) has presented an award to East Tennessee State University's Dr. Andy Czuchry, holder of the AFG Industries Chair of Excellence in Business and Technology, as well as professor both in the Department of Engineering Technology, Surveying and Digital Media and the Department of Management and Marketing.
AGB is a worldwide, non-profit organization created in 1989 to foster education in the fields of business and related areas of global concern. The organization encourages and facilitates an exchange of information, ideas and research activities among people in academic life, business and government, or involved in many aspects of business and global enterprises.
Every two years, AGB recognizes an outstanding individual who contributed extensively to promote global education in cooperation with business concerns. Czuchry was chosen for the 2012 award. Czuchry was presented with a plaque for his contributions and devotion to AGB, as well as for his outstanding publications.
Among his achievement mentioned in connection with the award were his research papers and presentations which frequently receive "best paper" awards. In addition, during 2012, he initiated and served as chair and moderator of a panel discussion entitled "Corporate Global Sustainability: A Role for Partnership with Higher Education," with panelists consisting of four chief executive officers of major industries. Mentioned as Czuchry's most important asset was his devotion to and partnerships with his students in building a bridge between academic work and private enterprises.
ETSU's Dr. Andy Czuchry receives the 2006 Ned R. McWherter Leadership Award
The Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) selected Dr. Andy Czuchry to receive the 2006 Ned R. McWherter Leadership Award. The award was created to recognize one individual each year who exemplifies outstanding leadership in pursuit of performance excellence, is dedicated to principles of excellence, has furthered performance improvement beyond his organization, and is committed to the core values of the TNCPE program.
