ever challenging! Now is the time to become involved
in the profession that helps people make changes
in their lives to promote improved health through
nutrition. It’s all about empowering individuals
and creating nutritional balance to best meet their
needs. From children’s nutritional problems
to specialized diets or tube feedings in a hospital,
nutrition and dietetics are recognized as essential
to the health care industry. Join a profession that
has a positive impact on society and provides a gratifying
work experience. Become a nutrition expert!
You can pursue a career in nutrition and dietetics
with a master’s degree in clinical nutrition
with a dietetic internship program. These programs
are designed for the student who possesses a BS degree
in nutrition or dietetics, and the internship offers
a route to becoming a registered dietitian (RD).
If you are already a nutrition professional and a
RD, you may pursue the MS degree without the internship
program in preparation for advanced levels of practice.
After completion of the internship program you can
specialize in areas such as pediatrics, obesity/weight
management, cancer treatment, renal disease, nutrition
support, cardiac care, long-term care, internal medicine,
sports nutrition or community health to name a few.
Careers abound in nutrition education, clinical dietetics,
and management positions in clinical, community,
or food service areas, as well as nutritional product
sales. Put aside your notions of hairnets and restricted
diets and step into the high tech age of nutritional
care in communities, in health care, in sports and
in food service.
