The Digital Media Program at ETSU offers you a B.S.
degree in Digital Media and a M.S. degree in Technology with a concentration
in Digital Media. The 4-year undergraduate program
provides you with 3 concentrations in Digital Animation,
Digital Visualization and Digital Interaction which
encompass a broad range of courses in animation,
3D modeling and visualization, interactive media
development, visual effects, digital video editing,
and computer illustration. The graduate program offers
opportunities to strengthen technical skills in advanced-level
production courses while pursuing individual research
in digital media technology and practice.
In the program, you will have not only developed
specialized technical skills in animation, 3D visualization,
and/or interactive media design, but also have gained
a solid foundation in art and design, as well. You
will receive a strong foundation in the principles
that work in all design: visual problem solving,
aesthetics, and training in traditional and computer
mediums. You also will have the opportunity to take
classes across the spectrum of digital media, or
take an emphasis in a particular specialty. There
is a range of specialized animation, 3D visualization,
and interactive media courses available to undergrads
such as character animation, 3D effects animation,
technical direction, video compositing, and product
design and interactive design. You will have the
opportunity to work in advanced production courses,
and in courses providing experience on projects for “real-world” clients.
The Digital Media Program will prepare you for a
variety of careers in the rapidly growing digital
media industry: animation for cinema, broadcast and
interactive media; special and visual effects; game
design; web design and development; interactive entertainment
and education; digital video editing; computer illustration;
product design; architectural rendering; and scientific
visualization.
