Do you want to protect the environment, guide the growth of the community, and help to solve planning problems? Do you believe in smart growth and proper land development? If you said yes, a career in planning and development might be for you. Planners are deeply involved in the politics, geography, economics, and social forces that shape the growth of cities and regions. Planners help to design city transportation plans, work to attract economic development, and help in site planning for local development companies.
East Tennessee State University offers a Master of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Planning and Development. Undergraduate students can also benefit by completing an Urban and Regional Studies Minor.
