The Department of Economics, Finance, Geography, and Urban Studies offers business and non-business degree programs. Educational opportunities abound for students who desire a career in business or the public sector. We have also established close ties with cooperating universities in Europe, allowing students to complete part of their degree program abroad-an important asset for those seeking employment in an ever more globally linked world of commerce. Our highly regarded AACSB-Accredited Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) program makes it possible for students to earn degrees in economics or finance. Economics students are able to earn a B.B.A. with concentrations in Business Economics or General Business. The B.B.A. in Finance offers students concentrations in Banking, Real Estate and Corporate Finance and Investments. Students who prefer a more diverse educational experience may choose our Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics program. A B.A. in Economics with a concentration in International Commerce is our newest program. The department’s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Geography prepares students for a wide variety of career opportunities including environmental studies, urban planning, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and certification to teach geography in grades 7-12. Moreover, a geography degree, coupled with a minor in urban studies, provides an excellent foundation for those who wish to pursue graduate study in the department’s Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program.
