What is the Collegiate Merchandising Association?
The Collegiate Merchandising Association is a student organization established during the 2006-2007 academic year to promote the merchandising program in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at East Tennessee State University, to acquaint its students with information and skills needed to facilitate professional development, and to provide merchandising service/consultation to the community.
Who should join?
Membership in the Collegiate Merchandising Association is open to all East Tennessee State University students, with dues of $10.00 per academic year. CMA is of special interest to apparel merchandising and interiors merchandising majors.

What types of activities are available?
During its inaugural year, the Collegiate Merchandising Association participated in numerous recruitment activities for the merchandising program and the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences; assisted in the Head 2 Toe program, providing prom gowns to underprivileged high school students; and collected mittens, hats, and scarves for needy children. Field trips to Just Write, Inc. in Johnson City for a program on entrepreneurship and a career day at Jewelry Television in Knoxville rounded out the organization's 2006-2007 activities.
