The Student Dietetic Association (SDA) is an active organization designed specifically for Nutrition and Foods students; the organization promotes nutrition and health throughout the campus, the region and the state. SDA is run by students and provides wonderful leadership, planning and organization opportunities for students. The organization sponsors workshops and educational sessions designed to help students explore career options.
Nutrition and Foods students who join SDA benefit from networking with other students, having access to nutrition graduate students who mentor and tutor undergraduate students, and having fun in a small group setting. The SDA holds bi-monthly meetings, and welcomes all students at the meetings. Meeting dates and times are posted on the Nutrition and Foods bulletin board on the main floor of Hutcheson Hall.
Dietetic students who join SDA are also able to join the American Dietetic Association as a student member. This automatically entitles them into membership within the Tennessee Dietetic Association and allows them to compete for coveted scholarships.
