Students who pursue a degree in our department have the opportunity to choose from several undergraduate programs and a graduate program that provide practical, scientific, and technical knowledge about everyday life. Students who complete our programs are prepared to help individuals, families, businesses, and communities cope with the challenges and complexities of today's society. Our students also have many opportunities for leadership development and professional growth.
As a student in our department, you will be assigned an academic advisor who is committed to helping you reach your goal of completing your degree by providing scheduling and registration advice and guidance in professional career development. Your advisor assignment will be based on your concentration, thus providing you the opportunity to interact with someone who is very familiar with your area of study and the career opportunities that will be available to you. Our faculty is genuinely interested in your success and will provide the necessary assistance that is needed to ensure this success. As the department chair, I am also genuinely interested in your success and I am available to assist you in helping you reach your goal of completing a college degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.
As you make a decision about your college and career goals, I certainly hope that you will consider studying in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. We look forward to having you as part of our dynamic department.
