Trillis McKee began her career at East Tennessee State University in 1986. Before that time she worked at North Electric, Texas Instruments and the City of Johnson City. She received her associate degree in Business from ETSU in 1972, the Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) designation in 1996, and her bachelor's degree (BGS) from ETSU in 1999. One of her final projects in completion of her bachelor's degree was in-depth research about the Appalachian material culture, specifically quilting. She designed, machine pieced and hand-quilted a quilt as part of her project. Since that time she has completed several other quilts, and has pursued studies in other areas of Appalachian material culture.
As the Executive Aide in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, she works closely with the Chair, Dr. Angela Lewis. She manages office operations and has many varied responsibilities within the department. Additional activities are Staff Senator, membership in campus service organizations, and building coordinator. Outside interests are her family, pets, retail service, marksmanship, and sewing.
You may contact Trillis for further information about the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences. She feels that FACS is an exciting, fun and interesting place to be!
