Child & Family Studies - Curriculum

General Education Core Requirements (41 cr.)
Students will complete the following communication courses: (9 cr.)
ENGL 1010 Critical Reading/Exp. Writing (3 cr.)
ENGL 1020 Critical Thinking/Argument (3 cr.)
SPCH 1300, 2300 or 2320   (3 cr.)
Students will choose one of the following mathematics courses: (3 cr.)
MATH 1530, 1840 or 1910 (3 cr.)
Students will complete 8 hours of natural science courses as follows: (8 cr.)
Choose BISC 1010/11 and BISC 1020/1021, or CHEM 1110/1111
and CHEM 1120/1121, or any two of the following:
CHEM 1000, CHEM 1030 or PHYS 1030.

Those seeking licensure to teach FACS are required to take CHEM
110/111 and CHEM 1220/1121, or CHEM 1000 and CHEM 1030.

Students will complete the following history courses*: (6 cr.)
HIST 2010 U.S. to 1877 (3 cr.)
HIST 2020 U.S. since 1877 (3 cr.)
 *HIST 2030 may be substituted  
Students will complete the following literature courses: (3 cr.)
