All students majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences are required to complete the 16 credit hours departmental core. This core of classes is the common body of knowledge of family and consumer sciences that integrates the study of individuals, families, and communities through human systems theory and life course development. Understanding human systems theory is necessary to properly address basic human needs and apply family and consumer sciences concepts.
