Due to a change in state contracts, ETSU no longer has access to special discounts with UPS.
ETSU departments must now pay full price for every package shipped via UPS. Many of you who ship
regularly with UPS have noticed the increased charges on your invoices since the first of January. FedEx
now has the current contract with the state and offer rates substantially lower than UPS.
Shipping Options: The following shipping options are available for packages being shipped through Central
Receiving:
FedEx (Discounted Rates)
UPS
Unishippers (Freight Shipments)
Central Receiving (9-4364) is available to pick up your shipping packages from your department at both the
main campus as well as at the VA campus. The packages will then be shipped out through Central Receiving.
The following rates are provided for comparison purposes:
FedEx deliveries to the VA campus -- Please note that when a package is shipped to the VA campus via
FedEx, FedEx has set up exemptions for the VA zip code (37684) in their shipping requirements. Packages
that are shipped FedEx Priority Overnight, usually to be delivered by 10:30 a.m., are only required to be
delivered to the VA by 4:30 p.m. FedEx Standard Overnight is not available as a service to the VA campus.
If a package is required prior to 4:30, the shipper should be instructed to send it to Central Receiving who will
deliver.
