Chem 1000 Chemistry and Well Being (4 credits) A terminal semester course designed to fulfill the general education core requirement for a laboratory science course for nonscience majors. The course will include discussion of chemistry and its relevance in society and our individual well being. It will explain the role chemical science plays in understanding environmental issues, nutrition and health, drugs, medicine, genetic engineering, modern materials, energy sources, and other chemical technological progress importanct to our standard of living. Experimental projects to be done inside or outside of the classroom setting are included. These experiments are designed to illustrate and explore the principles and concepts and applications of chemistry.
