This department has the major instrumentation required for teaching and research. The major instruments are a gas chromatography-mass spectrometer, an atomic absorption/emission spectrometer, a 400 MHz Fourier transformed nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer, two Fourier infra-red spectrometers, a high performance liquid chromatograph, a gas chromatograph, and an assortment of ultra-violet visible spectrophotometers. The faculty have their own specialized equipment for their research projects. The students conducting research with a faculty member are given the opportunity to have hands-on experience with any of the required instruments after they are trained.
