East Tennessee State University
Graduate Programs
The Chemistry Department offers MS degrees in chemistry in all four major divisions in chemistry: analytical, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry. The program requires 30 credit hours of a combination of core courses and thesis research. Students are required to successfully complete three credit hours of each of all four core courses. The students must pass a comprehensive exam in the division of their thesis concentration. They are also required to conduct thesis research, write it, present it in a seminar, and defend an oral exam. All graduate level and special topics courses are offered in the evenings. Graduate teaching assistantships and tuition scholarships are available for qualified students. Fill a pre-application form if your WWW browser supports FORMs.

Hi! I am Danessa Sexton, a graduate student at East Tennessee State University. I am interested in pursuing a M.S. in analytical chemistry. I recently finished my B.S. here at ETSU. I chose to stay here to further my study because the chemistry department has excellent and helpful faculty. There are many diverse research opportunities here within the areas of physical, analytical, organic, and inorganic chemistry.

Hello! My name is Kaylan Mondal, a first year graduate student in the Department of Chemistry at ETSU. I am an international student from India. Prior to this I have completed my B.S. degree in Chemistry from the University of Calcutta, India. I have also completed my Bachelor of Technology degree as well as my Master of Technology degree in Polymer Science and Technology from the same university. The M.S. program at ETSU offers a number of well-balanced courses in all four major branches of chemistry and also offers excellent research facilities. Having a background in Polymer Science I would like to have my research work related to Polymer Chemistry or Synthetic Organic Chemistry. East Tennessee State University is one of the reputed universities in the arena of chemistry in U.S. It is located in the heart of Johnson City, TN. The faculty, staff, and students are really friendly and helpful. More over the scenic beauty as well as pleasant climate make this University excellent for study.

I am originally from Rwanda, Africa. I received my undergraduate degree from Engineering School in Brussels, Belgium. I live in Knigsport, TN which makes it very convenient for me to attend ETSU. I am intersted in conducting research in Chemical Kinetics. I am a member of First Baptist Church of Bountville. As a Believer (Christian) I participate in worship in that church every Sunday.
