About Us

The primary goal of the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Office Occupant Protection Program is to promote and increase the usage of safety belts and the proper usage of child safety systems by vehicle occupants.

The East Tennessee Child Passenger Safety Center at East Tennessee State University supports this goal as it plans and implements regional programs to train, certify and re-certify Child Passenger Safety Technicians, assists technicians in carrying out Child Safety Check Points, interprets collected data to help develop improved educational materials and strategies, and works through community and commercial agencies to promote the proper use of child restraint systems in all vehicles.

The East Tennessee Child Passenger Safety Center (ETCPSC) has been addressing these important issues since 2001.
