Candidates seeking admission to ETSU's Transitional Licensure
Program must submit documentation for ALL of the following
before being accepted:
1. A copy of the signed Application For
Transitional License, including a complete set of all college
transcripts, showing intent to hire by a Local Education Agency
(LEA) with whom we have a partnership agreement.
2. One of the following:
- An academic major in the endorsement
area in which licensure is sought.
- Qualifying Praxis II content exam(s) for
the endorsement area in which licensure is sought. See
attachment. Also, go to www.ets.org/praxis and link to
Tennessee Requirements. Registration information and
list of testing sites (including ETSU Testing Center)
are available on the website.
3. Cumulative undergraduate grade point average of no less
than 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.
4. Qualifying scores for one of the following:

Qualifying Praxis I scores for all three tests:
Reading, Writing and Mathematics. (Manual or
Computerized testing is available. Go to
www.ets.org/praxis and link to Tennessee
Requirements. Registration information and list of
testing sites (including the ETSU Testing Center)
are available at the website.

Exemption from Praxis I by documenting a minimum
ACT Composite Score of 22 OR a combined Math/Verbal
Score on the SAT of no less than 1020.
Submit documentation for the above in a single packet
addressed to:
